Two views of my Jazz Bowl. A new technique for me. The bowl was formed by paddling a fat disc of white clay over a bisque form, thinning the clay and moving it down the form as I paddled. Then I coated the outside with black underglaze and carved through to the white clay, revealing the design. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out and will be doing more of it. I have a few more bowls that were created the same way, below:
These below are nice deep bowls, Small approx. 5" diam 4.5" deep and Large approx 8" diam 5' deep
.
Soup/Cereal Bowl has texture on outside. Measures approx. 5 3/4" x 6 1/4" and 3" tall, and holds approx 12 oz.
The turtle and seaweed were carved through a layer of cobalt terra sigillata. The surface is smoother than my impressed textured pieces. This is approx 10" in diameter.
Saucers are approx 6" square, Dinner Plates 9 1/2"
Note the Special Glazing Technique on the saucer on the left.
Some of these or some that are very similar, are in stock. Please inquire. I am happy to send photographs.
Special Glazing Technique will increase the cost of the piece.
